Andy Flowers
vice president
Andy became a No Walls Ministry board member in 2024 when he was also named Vice President. He is a native of Lynchburg and has primarily resided in central Virginia, with a brief interlude in northern Virginia, where he met his wife. They have been married since 1985.
Andy graduated from William and Mary with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and worked as a financial advisor for 37 years before retiring in 2017.
Andy became a believer in Jesus Christ in 1992 while in northern Virginia. That same year, he and his family moved back to central Virginia, settling in Forest, where they have lived ever since.
Andy’s unwavering commitment to our community, born from his deep connection with James “J. C.” Coleman, All Nations Community Church Pastor & Minister of Care Outreach, longtime No Walls Ministry board member, and current Advisory Council member, is truly inspiring. His journey began when he welcomed a sibling group from All Nations to his farm, teaching them the art of gardening. This simple act of kindness blossomed into a profound friendship and mentoring relationship, with J.C. even residing with the Flowers for several months. This experience led Andy to ask, “How can you use me, Lord?”
With that in mind, Andy’s wife Lori, another longtime No Walls Ministry board member and current Advisory Council member, started the Fostering Hope ministry at Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church to support foster parents and the children in their care. Andy launched the No Walls Ministry’s Service Squad.
The Service Squad provides general repair and maintenance services to individuals facing physical or financial constraints and churches and non-profit organizations needing support. The team undertakes diverse tasks, encompassing moving services, painting, construction of wheelchair ramps, tree removal, trash hauling, and various comparable activities. Under Andy's guidance, their endeavors benefit those they assist and foster a strong camaraderie among the dedicated volunteers engaged in the work.
Andy's sincere dedication to service compels him to labor diligently while he is still capable and mentor a successor to assume responsibility for the Service Squad when his work is done. A guiding scripture in his life, sourced from the Book of Romans, underscores this ethos:
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship” (Romans 12:1).
