Community Service
Appliance Ministry | Sports Ministry | Community Work Teams
We provide used and reconditioned household appliances including washers, dryers, refrigerators, and electric ranges to support individuals and families experiencing hardship or transition. These appliances are offered as a temporary, low-cost solution, with availability varying based on donations, refurbishment, and current inventory.
To stay rooted in relationship based service, we partner primarily with local churches and community organizations. These trusted partners help identify needs, coordinate delivery or pickup, and offer ongoing support beyond the appliance itself.
Since 2013, No Walls Ministry has provided more than 800 appliances that might otherwise have ended up in landfills. Each one represents more than a practical resource it saves families hours of travel to laundromats, eases financial strain so limited income can go toward essential needs, and restores dignity by reminding people they are seen, valued, and cared for as whole persons emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Sports Ministry
From the very beginning, No Walls Ministry has recognized the unique power of sports to connect with youth and families and to model the love of Christ in a practical, relational way. For many years, that meant creating basketball and soccer teams where young people could grow not only in their athletic abilities, but also in their character, confidence, and leadership.
More recently, No Walls Ministry has expanded this mission by partnering with a collaborative network of nonprofits called The Lynchburg Area Youth Sports Initiative. Together, we are developing a community-wide strategy to reach young people who might otherwise be excluded from organized sports due to financial barriers. With the rising “pay-to-play” model, far too many kids are prevented from participating simply because their families cannot afford the costs.
Through this partnership, we’re working to ensure that every child regardless of income has the opportunity to experience teamwork, mentorship, and healthy community through sports.

Community Work Teams
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…” (James 1:27). This verse captures the heart of our community work. Faith comes alive when people step out of their routines and into the lives of others especially those who are vulnerable, overlooked, or carrying heavy burdens and choose to walk alongside them with compassion and care.
That spirit is what shapes our Community Work Teams, often called the Service Squad. These teams gather to take part in hands-on, shared projects that strengthen neighborhoods and relationships at the same time. Sometimes that means painting together in a shared space, improving a community area, building accessibility features, or tackling practical projects that make homes and neighborhoods safer and more welcoming. Each project is designed to be collaborative, relational, and rooted in joy people working side by side for the good of the community.
At the heart of every project is something deeper than the work itself. It’s neighbors helping neighbors. It’s friendships forming over paint rollers and tool belts. It’s people from different backgrounds coming together to create something meaningful. As we build, repair, and serve together, we also build unity, trust, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Whether you’re looking to volunteer, connect with others through group projects, or simply be part of something that brings people together for the good of the community, we invite you to join us.
